The Cardiovascular System is your bodies engine and we all know that without a good engine we are going nowhere. Our exercise program and training ensures you get the physical conditioning that exercises the heart, lungs and associated blood vessels. In other words, when you perform cardiovascular exercise, your heart, lungs, circulatory system and the muscle groups you use to do the exercise are getting a good workout!

There are a variety of cardiovascular exercises, but the most effective cardiovasular exercises are those that use the largest muscle groups in the body and require you to support your own bodyweight while exercising. So, Swimming; cycling; rowing; aerobics; circuit training; walking; jogging; running; dancing; using gym machines such as a stepper, treadmill, rower, or cross-trainer; and just about any team sports are excellent fat burning exercises.

1. Improving Your Heart Health

Number 1 on the list to improving the condition of your heart is exercise. Your heart is a muscle just like any other and in order for it to become strong it must be worked. If you fail to work it, it will weaken over time and this can cause a variety of negative health effects.

Getting your heart pumping at a faster rate on a regular basis keeps it in shape and healthy. Don’t get winded going up and down stairs or lose your breathe during a run – WORKOUT – that heart muscle and see the difference it can make.

2. Improve Your Metabolism

Cardiovascular training helps to increase your metabolism. By speeding up your heart rate, exercise increases the rate of various other processes in the body. The more intense your cardiovascular workout is the more noticeable increase you will see in your metabolic rate.

So get walking, biking or running on that treadmill because increased metabolism means an easier time maintaining your weight and losing it!

3. Improve Your Recovery Ability

Lower more moderately paced forms of Cardiovascular exercise can decrease your recovery time. For instance if your have just completed a hard session of lifting in the gym jumping on a treadmill for a walk or light jog helps to remove the by-products produced during the lifting session. This helps reduce DOMS (delayed onset of muscle soreness) and promotes more oxygen rich blood to your muscle tissue helping it to rebuild and repair faster. This makes it quicker to get back into the gym and work those muscles again!

4. Improve Your Hormonal Profile

Cardiovascular exercise changes the hormonal profile of your body considerably. It releases ‘feel good’ hormones that will help ease the symptoms of depression and fatigue as well as releasing hormones that decrease the appetite.

So feel good and start getting those muscles pumping!

5. Management Of Diabetes

Cardiovascular exercise can help you to handle your diabetes better. Exercising increases your muscles ability to utilize Glucose(sugar). Exercising regularly can help with your ability to control your blood sugars. You will feel better and you will avoid those high and low blood sugar swings. This means a healthier you!

These are but a few benefits of regular cardiovascular exercise.

So get started and make your first goal to simply find an activity that gets you moving and gets your heart rate up. Become one of those individuals who practice regular cardiovascular exercise and gain a more positive outlook on life simply by achieving stress-relief the natural way.

It never gets easier.
