Fitness Testing

Morgan’s Wellness Center offers fitness testing for a variety of reasons. There is alot we learn from this type of testing, which makes your nutrition and exercise routines specific and just for you. Fitness tests, often referred to as fitness evaluations or fitness assessments, include a series of measurements that help determine the health status and physical fitness of an individual. There are an endless number of possible tests and measurements that trainers and coaches may use to determine an individual’s baseline fitness level and many reasons why you may benefit from this assessment:

assess current fitness level
learn about past injuries or surgeries
identify appropriate training options
determine current health conditions, risks or limitations
identify fitness goals, interests and motivation for exercising
establish methods to track progress and evaluate program success
create a one-on-one relationship and establish appropriate expectations for both the athlete and the trainer.

Common Components of Fitness Tests:

Health History & Medical Screening
Before beginning an exercise program it’s a good idea to review your medical history and, if necessary, get a doctor’s OK to exercise (or at least understand your exercise limitations). At Morgan’s Wellness center one of the first things we do is to obtain this history and incorporate it into a fitness routine that is just right for you.

Body Composition
We estimate your body composition and body fat in order to determine your nutritional needs and exercise regimen.

Cardiovascular Endurance
Cardiovascular endurance testing measures how efficiently the heart and lungs work together to supply oxygen and energy to the body during physical activity. This information helps to plan your workout routines and schedule.

Strength and Muscular Endurance
Test for muscle endurance and strength measure how a muscle responds to specific activities and helps determine recommended levels for fitness. Muscle strength testing measures the maximal amount of force a muscle group can exert at one time, and muscular endurance testing measures the length of time a muscle group can contract before it fatigues.
Flexibility Testing
Measuring range of motion or the flexibility in certain joints helps to assess muscle weakness of the body is helpful in assessing muscle weakness, injury and imbalances.

Speed Drills and Agility Tests

It never gets easier.
